Things To Do This Fall

Fall is FINALLY in full swing! If you guys are basic bitches like me, you've been waiting all year for it. Tis the season for wearing cute sweaters and boots, excessive eating, and forcing your boyfriend into posing for photos at various harvest festivals. Here's a few things I think are fall must haves!

1. Apple Picking

Up here in New England, apple picking is LIFE. There's nothing better than dressing up in a cute fall outfit (the kind you say you're gonna wear all season but you end up wearing leggings and a sweatshirt everyday instead), and getting some bomb ass pictures all while sipping a hard cider.

2. Pumpkin Picking

The only thing better than apple picking, is pumpkin picking. It's actually really fun to pick out the best pumpkin and imagine how you could carve it. Plus, the pretty pop of orange will make your insta stand out when you inevitably post picture of yourself hugging a pumpkin.

3. Pumpkin Carving

Sure it's kinda gross getting all the guts out, but once you put a candle in that baby, it'll all be worth it. I like to put on Nightmare Before Christmas in the background while we carve! Make it into a competition, who can making the best carving!

4. Baking Night

Pick up some supplies at the store, send your boyfriend out fishing, pump up the jams and invite some girlfriends over.. It's a baking party!! Bake up some ah-mazing pumpkin flavored and orange colored treats as a group and get some much needed gossip/girl time. Make it an annual tradition!

5. Movie Night

This night is particularly hilarious to me because Jake is terrified of scary movies.. Like he koala bear's onto me and hides in my hair.. my hero? Pop up some popcorn, put on a flick and cuddle up to someone special.. also good luck sleeping after with Chucky hiding under your bed and the boogyman in your closet.

6. Haunted House/Forest

Where I live, we have haunted houses, train rides, etc. but what I think really takes the cake is the Haunted Forest. It adds a whole other level of creepiness walking through the forest in the middle of the night! You could even make your own for your friends and family!

7. Harvest Festival/Farmer's Market/Craft Fair

Remember those things your mom tried to bring you to but you were far too busy sitting in your room kissing your poster of Pete Wentz and loitering on AIM? Yea, they are actually pretty fun to go to! Pick up some delicious food, unique trinkets and maybe even pet a goat!

8. Knitting/crafting

Alright, now I'm sounding like a grandma but knitting is actually very therapeutic and if you do it enough, you can make a scarf for everyone in your family and save some serious cash at Christmas lol. As for crafting, you can make the same cute decorations you see at Homegoods for a fraction of the price and also give yourself something fun to do!

9. Go for a walk/trail ride/canoe ride/hayride

This is the prettiest season of the year, so go outside and enjoy it! Grab a PSL, hot cocoa, or hot cider and get out there.

10. Corn Maze

What's more fun than getting lost with your best friends/significant other in a beautiful corn maze? Nothing.

11. NFL Day!

One of the best things about Fall, in my opinion, is football. My dad always had football on so it reminds me of him and makes me happy! I know, us girls are supposed to sit around and complain at our guys until they ditch the game and do what we want, but I urge you to get into the game, it's actually really fun and will give you some insight as to why the men in your life seem so enamored by the sport. Fun tip: After the game, go play a game of touch football! Cool girl points. You could even make an appearance at your old high school's Sunday game.

12. Cooking

There's just something about fall and winter food that warms you down to your soul and reminds you of your childhood. As I've grown up and have lived on my own, I've inherited some great family recipes and I'm sure many of you have too! Pinterest is also a great place to get some yummy comfort food recipes. Play mom for the day and cook up something warm and delicious! I love making things like chili and spaghetti sauce because they make the house smell great and leftovers will last you a while.

13. Get hyped for Christmas!!

Need I say more? I've been counting down the days since July..

Happy Fall!

xoxo,

Emily
